Tour Overview
I’ve taken the Miller Brewery Tour myself, and it was both fun and educational! One of the best parts is that the tour ends at the beer garden, where guests 21 and older can enjoy complimentary samples.
The approximately 70-minute indoor/outdoor guided walking tour takes visitors through nearly 170 years of brewing history. From Frederick Miller’s arrival in Milwaukee to the modern high-speed production lines used today, you’ll get an up-close look at how one of Milwaukee’s most iconic brands operates.
The experience starts with a beer (for those who are of age)—because why not? After checking in, you’ll watch a short introductory video before heading underground into the historic lagering caves. That was probably my favorite part of the tour because it felt like stepping back in time.
As the tour continues, you’ll see the Brew House, Packaging Center, and Distribution Center. One thing that surprised me was how massive the operation is. Watching forklifts move pallet after pallet of product and seeing the packaging lines in action really gives you a new appreciation for how much beer is produced every day. The warehouse was buzzing with activity from start to finish.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the brewing process, see where the beer is made and packaged, and discover the many beer brands produced at the brewery. Ice-cold samples of their finest brews are offered at various stops throughout the tour and again at the end for guests 21 and older. For guests under 21, or anyone who prefers not to drink alcohol, water and soft drinks are available. I don’t drink, so I happily enjoyed a soda instead!
Whether you’re a history buff, a Milwaukee local, or just looking for something unique to do, the Miller Brewery Tour is definitely worth checking out.
